Market Days on Broadway

Uptown Columbus describes Market Days as a traditional farmers market. Shoppers can expect fresh and organic produce, baked goods, home goods, jewelry and crafts. The rules for the main season:

  • Most sales must be locally grown farm products, baked goods or homemade crafts.
  • Anything that is not handmade, homemade or homegrown has to come off the table.
  • “Organic” may only be used for produce certified organic by the state.
  • No open-flame grills; vendors may use only warmers and chafing dishes.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s community farmers market directory lists Market Days as the market for Muscogee County, with Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to noon. Uptown Columbus did not post hours on its own page when we checked; call before you go.

The fall markets

From September to November, Uptown holds a fall Market Days on the first Saturday of the month, on the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Broadway and 12th Street. The 2026 dates were Sept. 5, Oct. 3 and Nov. 7. The fall market is open to every kind of vendor, not only growers and makers, so expect more general goods than in summer.

Selling at the market

For the 2026 main season, a 10-by-10-foot space cost a one-time $245 application fee, and vendors who missed three weeks in a row could lose their spot. One-day spaces on the 12th Street sidewalk cost $15 a Saturday, with applications open Monday at 10 a.m. to Thursday at 4 p.m. Fall market spaces are $20 a month. The 2026 season application opened Jan. 14; Uptown takes payment by check, money order or card, not cash. Vendors pay their own state and local taxes and follow food safety rules.

SNAP and EBT

Uptown Columbus does not say on its market pages whether vendors accept SNAP/EBT benefits. Ask at the market or call 706-596-0111. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s SNAP retailer locator lists farmers markets and stores that accept benefits.
