Colgay Pride's 13th and final Halloween Festival runs 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday on 16th Avenue. The group says its June 2027 Pride will be its last in Columbus.
Colgay Pride, the group that runs Columbus’ LGBTQ Pride festival, holds its last Halloween Festival on Saturday. The group also says it will leave Columbus after one more Pride festival in June 2027.
The 13th annual Halloween Festival, billed as “The Final Chapter,” runs from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 4214 16th Ave. That is the address the group gives for itself. “This marks the final Halloween Festival hosted by Colgay Pride,” the group says on its Halloween Festival page.
What is planned
The group lists:
- trick-or-treating for children from 5 to 8 p.m.
- adult and children’s costume contests at 8:30 p.m.
- the Hallo Queen Drag Show at 9 p.m.
- a bonfire and a s’mores station
- a haunted walk at Bealwood Cemetery
- live music, food trucks and a cash bar
- costumed appearances by horror film characters, including Pennywise, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Chucky and Michael Myers
The contest and drag show times come from the group’s events page. The festival page asks guests to bring cash for the food trucks and the bar, and says costumes are encouraged for all ages. It does not list an admission price.
Businesses that want to take part as a vendor or sponsor, or people who want to donate candy, can text “HALLOWEEN26” to 706-580-6239, according to the page.
Leaving Columbus after Pride 2027
The Colgay Pride home page says June 2027 will be the group’s last Pride festival. “After 14 years we are moving and closing our doors here in Columbus forever,” the group says there.
The farewell festival, the 14th annual, is listed for Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, 2027. The group’s site does not say why it is leaving or where it is going. It is asking for sponsors and donations to pay for the last festival.
The group’s logo dates it to 2013. Its 2026 Pride page shows the most recent festival:
- an opening show on Friday, June 12, at Woodruff Riverfront Park
- a parade on Saturday, June 13, from Front Avenue and 9th Street up Broadway to 13th Street and back
- a ceremony marking 10 years since the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida
This fall the group has also held free drag nights it calls Diversity Saturdays at the same 16th Avenue address, on Sept. 5 and Oct. 3, according to its events page.
What it means for you
- Saturday is the last one. Trick-or-treating for children ends at 8 p.m.; the drag show starts at 9 p.m. Bring cash.
- The weather looks dry. The National Weather Service forecast on Thursday called for a mostly cloudy Saturday with a high near 78 and gusts up to 25 mph. It gave only a 20% chance of showers, after 1 a.m. Sunday.
- Other Halloween plans. Our Halloween events guide lists everything else in Columbus on Saturday, and trick-or-treat hours has the times and safety numbers.
- The farewell Pride. Put June 5 and 6, 2027, in the calendar if you want to see the last Colgay Pride festival in Columbus.
