14 barbecue places in Columbus, Georgia, from Country's on Broadway to MidCity Yards, River Road and Veterans Parkway, with hours from each place's own site.

Last checked Oct. 6, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Barbecue in Columbus has three anchors: Country’s Barbecue, with restaurants on Mercury Drive, on Broadway in Uptown and on Veterans Parkway; MidCity Yards on Sixth Avenue, home to Moe’s Original BBQ; and north Columbus, where 13th Street, Mike & Ed’s and Jim ‘N Nick’s are. Smaller places sit on River Road and Warm Springs Road.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside the Columbus city limits, the same records behind our local business directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 6, 2026. We added Moe’s Original BBQ from its own site, and places marked † from the Georgia Department of Public Health inspection database, which confirms each had a food service inspection at that address in 2026. We take hours only from a place’s own site, so † places show none. We dropped Smokey Bones at Columbus Park Crossing, which has no 2026 inspection record and whose site would not load for us. The list is alphabetical; it is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.

The places with their own pages

13th Street Bar-B-Que, 5506 Veterans Parkway. A counter-service barbecue shop whose menu is built around chipped pork sandwiches and combo plates. It closes at 3 p.m. most days and is closed Sunday.

Country’s Barbecue, three Columbus restaurants. Country’s says it has cooked over an open pit of oak and hickory since 1975, and makes its Brunswick stew, pies and lemonade in house. The original is on Mercury Drive, where it lists live bluegrass on Friday and Saturday evenings. Country’s on Broad at 1329 Broadway fills a 1930s Greyhound bus station, with a milkshake bar and the only drive-thru on Broadway, it says. Country’s North on Veterans Parkway is decorated like a lodge and has a patio. All three list all-you-can-eat barbecue chicken on Tuesday nights.

Mike & Ed’s BBQ, 7590 Schomburg Road. A barbecue and home cooking restaurant founded in 1985, with a second restaurant in Phenix City, Alabama. It lists pork, chicken, ribs, wings, smoked ham and smoked turkey. Its site posts hours for the Phenix City restaurant only, so call the Columbus number before you go.

Moe’s Original BBQ, 1421 Sixth Ave. A fast-casual rib joint at MidCity Yards with a full bar, evening entertainment and a 900-square-foot deck overlooking Fetch Park. Its menu lists pulled pork, smoked chicken and smoked turkey, with an Alabama-style white sauce.
