The outside southbound lane of Cherokee Avenue near Cherokee Drive closes Monday, Oct. 12, for about a month while the city repairs a retaining wall by Weracoba Creek.

One southbound lane of Cherokee Avenue will close Monday, Oct. 12, for about a month. The city is repairing part of a retaining wall next to Weracoba Creek.

The closure covers the outside southbound lane near the intersection with Cherokee Drive. The Columbus Consolidated Government announced it in a notice of lane closure on Cherokee Avenue dated Oct. 7.

The city said the work is expected to take about one month. That points to a reopening around mid-November, though the notice gives no end date.
